But there is hope—under the radiant moon, a goddess watches over them, determined to help them find peace.

Setting Description

The story takes place across two distinct realms: the Mortal World and the Spiritual Realm, illuminated by the silver light of the Moon. The Moon itself serves as both Yuna's domain and her source of power, while the Tree of Spirits sustains the moon’s glow and controls the balance between the realms.

Story

After falling deathly ill, Yuna was saved by Sugra, her beloved. But soon after, Sugra vanished without a trace, leaving Yuna heartbroken and searching for answers. When Death visited her, Yuna begged not to be taken, her soul too tethered to the mortal world by her love for Sugra. Death, moved by her plea, granted her an unusual task: she would become the Moon Goddess, guiding souls to transcendence.

Death gifted her a companion, Arus, a moon unicorn who guarded the Tree of Spirits. Yuna's mission was clear: she had one year to guide wandering souls, but if she failed to transcend at the end of that time, Death would claim her.

As Yuna aided various souls in their journeys, her bond with Arus deepened. She helped a soul who had lost her lover, only to discover the painful truth that the man had abandoned her for another. Yuna began to see that many souls lingered not out of stubbornness, but out of unresolved pain—just like her own.

Arus, the ever-faithful unicorn, encouraged Yuna to complete her mission without attachments. But Yuna, still driven by her love for Sugra, refused to let go.

As the year neared its end, the Tree of Spirits began to wither, its glow fading from the moon. Desperate, Yuna ventured into the Realm of the Soul-Sucking Demons, only to be ambushed. Arus arrived just in time to save her but was gravely injured. In that moment, Yuna uncovered the truth: Arus was Sugra. He had struck a bargain with Death to extend Yuna’s life, but in return, he was cursed to live as the moon unicorn.

Torn between her mission and her love, Yuna confronted Death, begging to take Sugra’s punishment upon herself. Death, impressed by her compassion, allowed Sugra to transcend, but with a condition: in each of Sugra’s lifetimes, he would retain memories of Yuna, and they would be reunited under the light of the moon.

Yuna accepted, becoming the eternal Moon Goddess, forever guiding lost souls while awaiting the reincarnations of her beloved.

Moral of the Story

True love is not about holding on; it is about setting free, even at great personal cost.
